Our Booth @ the Barnett Shale Expo was a great success. It was at the Fort Worth Convention center saturday. We were there to promote my new sidedump trailer, it has baffles so the drilling mudd won’t slosh around. My daughter and a hand from Sidedump Industries help me work the booth, we gave away over 500 Oilfield Trash Part 2 Bumper stickers, a boat load of free OFTP2 trinkets. I would like to welcome any new friends to my blog, The purpose of this bolg is entertain, inform, and generally talk about things that at the moment seem impoutant. I also like to hear from you. Our family never owned slaves, we came over from europe the same way in the bottom of a boat, chopped (hoe cotton) for years along side whoever was unlucky enough to be in that position. Have you ever woke up at night and not have any idea where you where, the clock is in the wrong place the bed is wrong size and the bathroom door is gone. Well that’s what happen to me last night in my own bed. I figured out where I was when I looked over and saw brunette instead of a blonde.

1100 actually came through our booth today, 800 yesterday. this is people that left sales leads info, probably that many more that looked and passed thru. Went and saw Sara Evans sing last night she is suppose to be friends with one of the New Holland bosses. It was fun, but when you are that pooped its tuff to get to excited.

12 hr’s of nonstop booth work have taken its toll on my feet. No time to sit down today over 1200 people came and looked at the bayonet.

My first trip to Vegas was in 1974, for a few years 18 was old enough to drink, gamble and vote (by product of vietnam). I took all my hay haulin monies (300 dollars) and flew to vegas. You know I had all this experience playing basement blackjack, my monies lasted a whopping 30 min. I spent the next three days walking around. Well I am back walking around the con=expo and I’ve blown more that 300.

I know that New Holland is over a 100yr’s old, Based in New Holland Pennsylvania (hence the name) got started with portable Feed Mill, allowing feed, Milo, Corn, Maze, ect, to be ground at the farms, and go straight to market. This led to other agg related products, such as Swather, Harvesters, plows, and One of the best product ever the round baler,(in my opinion never properly credited for this innovation) New Holland pioneered the Round Baler. Sometime around 1906 or 1907 Ford created the first mass produce agg tractor, this led to New Holland and Ford partership near the midcentury. Ford New Holland produce what is considerd the first real Rubbertire backhoe (i know Case but theirs was a converted agg tractor) FNH built this machine to only be a Backhoe. Thus ushering in the modern Rubber Tires Backhoe. Around this time Fiat (Italy) aquires controlling interest in FNH. Taking the product worldwide. Sometime later around 1997-1999 Fiat dropped the Ford brand to become New Holland Construction. Fiat goes on the aquire rival Case/IH. Moving way up the food chain, to #3 worldwide. I love their aquisition of Kobelco. Kobe Steel Corporation has been building excavators since the 60′s. Considered by many to be the one of the top innovators in excavator technology.
