Pipeline ROW pitfalls

Posted by Oil Field Trash on April 3rd, 2007

Be careful when you lease for a pipeline easement. Make sure it’s for that pipeline only, if not they can slip a blanket easement on you which allow them to put anything on there they want. They could sublease it to a sewer line or gaint Godzilla power towers, and you can’t say squat. And you get paid nothing extra. At my Ranch at Chalk Mountain my neighbor leased to a pipeline company it runs 30 ft off my fence line. I hope he signed a line specific lease, that all I need is Gaint Godzilla power tower in front of my ranch house.
