Shale Moves Rig in @ Chalk Mountain

Posted by Oil Field Trash on 25th June 2006

I hope everybody see the rig , it went up saturday 24th of June. It is a saltwater disposal well, this will help us. All gas well generate saltwater, either by Frac, or just flowback while in production. The good news about this Shale well is, that it makes it more friendly to drill in westeren Somervell county. It is right at the bottom of Chalk Mountain. I sold the rock it is sitting on so we have already made a crum on the deal. When it is up and running it will be a busy place.

Rig Count

Posted by Oil Field Trash on 19th June 2006

As of 6/2/06 in Region 7B & 5 which includes Cleburne & Glen Rose there was a total of 172 active drilling rigs. That almost the same as Louisiana @192 and Oklahoma @ 182. Texas has a total of 742. Texas accounts for almost half of the drilling rigs in the Unuted States. Way more than the entire country of Canada @293. My source for data is the International Ass. of Drilling Contractors, of which I am a Proud member.

Swamp Land

Posted by Oil Field Trash on 17th June 2006

Years ago I started buying land a little here a little there. One of my problems was no money, so all I could afford was gully washes and swamp land. Well it turns out that gully wash land has large amounts of water that run across it ( that can be captured). And swamp land or more commonly known as river bottom flood plane, has lots of surface water. Then one day Mr. Mitchell up in Wise county found a way to use large amounts of fresh water to bring in horizontal gas well ( know as, double up, fold over, start your engines and kick it ass 100,000 barrel frac). And here I be sitting on all this cheap ass gully wash, flood plain land. Who would have known.

Two women are talking, One mentions that her husband of 25 years had just passed away. She went on telling about her husbands last request, that he have a 30,000 dollar Headstone shaped like a Drilling Rig. Her friend said my gosh how big was this stone? Oh I’d say about 6.5 Carats.
