Fresh Water for Oilfield

Posted by Oil Field Trash on February 19th, 2006

The fresh water reservoir has been a success, we started allowing water loading and had 140 trucks the first day. Somedays no trucks somedays lots of trucks. We have 5 seperate draw pipes plus a 2000 GPM overhead standpipe. All weather access and 24hr a days service. The 1.2 million gal reservior can be recharged twice daily to the tune of 50,00o barrels per day. We are schedule to upgrade our video surveillance by the end of the month. All of this right in the middle of the Barnett Shale.

How about the Desdemona (hog town) Field ?
Read that and outfit by the name of Cano Petroleum is doing some waterflood injection wells. Do injection wells use fresh water ? or can they use brackish water? I know in that area and also Erath , Glen Rose …. ect. fresh water is at a premium.
