1. No a barrel is 42 Gallons
2. Due to dissolved salts from runoff as in the Salton Sea or in well water due to water passing thru salty formations underground.
3 0 to .05% Fresh, .06% to 3% Brackish, 3% up to about 5% Saline.
Bonus True north is west of magnetic north.

no, a the oilfield standard is 42 gallons in a barrel. That is how we calculate volumes, hydrostatic pressures and such in the field.
Yes, salt water appears inland. Ask anybody who owns some old gas wells and he’ll tell you about having to replace tubing due to saltwater
