1. Where does The formation Barnett Shale get it’s name? 2. To date where have the thickest layer of Barnett shale been located? 3. What is the actual color of the Barnett shale. 4. Is it true that if you lite a piece of Barnett shale it would burn? (Who ever get the correct answers quickest wins a Chicken Fried Steak at the Dinersarus Diner @ Glen Rose.) My treat.

1. Barnett Shale gets it’s name after finding a soft, yellowish gray to black claey bituminious shale near the John. W. Barnett homestead who settled in the San Saba area in the 1870′s.2.Thickest area is in the Denton/Wise counties area. 3.Color is yellowish to black, however, mostly black. 4. False..if you stick match to shale it will not burn. Do you have good french fries?
