You oilfield boys need some machine work done take it to Atlas Machine in Joshua Tx. I walked their shop and they have quite a few CNC machines, Lathes you name it. They Can handle large parts over a ton no problem. I am hoping to use them for some of our machine work. Call Wesley @ 817-558-7777

Looks like some local boys are diving in the saltwater disposal business. According to the Texas Railroad Commision a Permit has been issued for a well. The persons involved appear to be Tim White and John Matthews. I think it’s a great thing. Matthews has got it going on. He hauls it then, puts it down his own well. I hope he makes a zillion bucks. Got to give him credit, make hay when the sun is shining.

Good news and bad news. The good news first. You people up in Hood and Parker Counties will be seeing Shell. They have reportly 50,000 ac under lease. Now for the bad news, Us poor bastards down in Somervell Co. just get to watch. Oh there is plent of sizmo going on, and plenty of leases signed, but with out a Rig turning to the right in our county we will not see the spoils seen by Godley. Fudge.

Shell Oil Company aka Royal Dutch Shell. Ticker (RDS) is comming to town. This is for sure I think? My sources close to the action says Shell is moving 6 rigs up from south Texas. No one that I know has leased to them. But plenty have leased to what they thought where small private land companys. Could be that these small land companys are not so small after all. Rumors have it that Shell will ride in on Chief Leases. But me think Big Chief have plenty of wampoom and no need Shell. I will be down in Barnett country this week and will put my ear to the ground and listen for Shale,I mean Shell. (Found out later the Deal is off)

The Glen Rose “Tigers”. The Prosper “Eagles” boring. Should be the Glen Rose Rapters, and the Prosper Predators. But not to be, all we can do is enjoy some other schools cools Mascots. Taylors Ducks, Hotto Hippos, Henrietta Mud Hens, Rotan Yellow Hammers, Hamlin Piped Pipers, Hereford Whitefaces, (Not to cool if your black), Robstown Cotton Pickers, Buffalo Bison, The Winter Blizzards, Troy Trojans, Shamrock Irish, And the Grand Prairie Gophers. I guess the Trojans Mascot runs around in a clear trash sack. Frisco was the Coons But changed it to the Racoons. But my all time favorite mascot is Hooker Okla, The Horney toads. Hooker, Horney, get it. owell. Seemed funny at the time.

Out at Chalk Mountain two different Seismic crews are working so close to each other thay have to take turns shooting because they overlap each other. Sunday they shook all day it made for a long day trying to relax with all that noise and quad-runners zipping around. I counted 35 seperate monitors on my place. They could hear me flush the john at my ranch house. They express hugh interest in my entire ranch. They surveyed the entrance and roads and made special note of my lakes. I asked for a copy of the surface survey so I can get a better idea how much property I really have. With the mountain and valleys it has proven difficult to get a good acre count. They tied in the property lines with GPS and discovered some interesting info.

Well the festival went well we sold out of Brisket and Sausage links. I was surprised seeing how a music festival and circus was in GlenRose that same day. We sold cups but gave away a drink said to be moonshine. Must of been good had a few repeat customers. Had quite a few Quicksilver people come by and say hi. I sure wish they would drill a well on this side of the river.

I sometimes spend the night at my home in Prosper Tx. You probably don’t know anything about the 2A Football District Prosper is in. It’s a tuff district the main reason is Celina. Celina has managed the impossible they went from 3A in a expanding market to 2A. We all know how it was done, every trick in the book, from late regisition, to having AD (Assisted Development) kids sign sports exemption forms. Ethics have taken a back seat to winning. The parents seem normal until the team takes the field. Then all bets off. One time 2 weeks after 911 at Celina Staduim the Announcer started the National Anthem while the Prosper Boys where comming on to the field. They run on the field to a silent crowd paying homage to our nation. That was as low a blow as I have ever seen. That night we scored first, but lost to a 3A team dressed in Orange. From that day on Celina lost any respect I had for their accomplishments. Such talent robbed of greatness by runaway Egoes.
