Houston is running scared. My friend in League City is all ready packed and headed to his ranch in Blanco. Katrina has put the fear of God in everyone. We where scheduled to pickup a machine at the Port today and the Dock is all ready closed. So batten down the hatches, lower the Sail, secure the Mast and brake out the Shiner.

Don’t touch. Hat do’s and Don’ts. A hat is considered very personal property. Touching it can provoke a undersirable response. Similar to poping a womens bra. Removing someones hat can and has started fights. Always place hat just as you found them. Hat wearers place their hat in certain ways to protect the crease. If layed flat on the brim it will flatten the arch in the brim. Also never lay a hat on a bed this has long been considered bad luck. Never try someones hat on. It has sweat and body fluids you may not like. I have thrown out hats that began to stink. No that doesn’t make me a shit head. But sweat ,rain, smoke, even engine exhaust can embed odors into hats. If you are curious about hat go to a western store and try one on. Just remember they range from 20.00 to 700.00 and say alot about the person wearing it. Quik Quiz. If you saw someone wearing a Smokie the Bear hat. Would you think, Banker, Bullrider,Fashion modle, or Outdoors Man. Point made!

Ritchie Brothers Auctions has a auction planned at their Ft. Worth location. This will be the first big auction this close to Katrina. It will be interesting to witness the events as they unfold. This sale has two thing in its favor. 1st the energy contractor, this sale yard is right smack dab in the middle of the Barnett shale. Oilfield contractors need not even get up early to make the open bell at 8:00 Thursday 29th. Second is the Emergency Response contractor should have all their contracts in place with FEMA, and Insurance companys by sale date. These two thing should make for interesting sale. See you there. I was in my office at Prosper. A friend called me and told me about the plane that hit the first building. We turned on the tv and specalated how such a thing could happen. Then a tear fell from my eye as I witness the second tower being hit. No one need explain to me who or why. Four years later we all know that now a days no passanger on any plane will let a highjacker take control of the plane. We all know the drill, no more trips to Cuba. No more DB Sweeney. I feel safer on a plane now than I ever have. The United States has dodged many bullets over the years, some by luck, some by great Americans doing their job. You may not like the guy next door, but be glad you don’t have to. The economy suffered not from the attack, but our reaction to it. Lets not let that happen again, just like Katrina. Lets clean it up and get it on. Just remember my cliche line. “If your not having fun your doing it wrong”.

Vicky did not like her husband working nights, he drove a salt water truck. But this evening was different there was a knock at the door. Vicky answered , it was Tommy Joe a day driver for the salt water company. “I saw the light on and though I would stop”. Vicky knew that Tommy Joe was good friend of her husband, so she had no problem offering him a drink. Well as the night went on Vicky noticed Tommy Joe looking at her breast. This cautioned her and she pulled away. Tommy said ” Don’t be like that. Tell you what I’ll do show me one of your breast and I”ll give you a 100 dollars”. She cautioned him “Hand to you self” and slowly exposed one breast. Tommy then said ” Show me the other and I’ll make it 200 Dollars. She though why not and show him both her breast. Tommy handed her the monies and left. The next morning the husband come home and asked if anybody had come by. Vicky “Say’s why do you ask?” The husband answered. “Tommy Joe was suppose to come by last night and drop off the 200 dollars I loaned him

One day 2 Landmen from different gas companys met for lunch. The topic, how to divide up the county. Within minutes one stoodup with anger and said ” You are such a liar. ” “Of course I’m lying, but first hear me out”

The surge in Oilfield construction such as Drilling locations, Pipeline construction, Plant construction, Right of Way clearing ect ect. Has already strained the available heavy equipment in this area, Now I get a call Friday night from a Major Energy based Construction Company. Needing 300 Machines in Kenner La. in the next 3 Weeks. I felt flattered to be asked for such involvement. I have been on the phone all weekend pulling together equipment packages from as far away as Denver Co. I’ll do everthing I can to get this Iron to Kenner. What I need is more Excavators, any size and any brand.

Tolar and Hill City are getting it done. The gas companys can’t drill a dry hole. We are sending machines to Bratton #10 yep that’s 10 wells on one lease in less that 4 months. Pipelines crisscross Hood county like giant wandering gophers looking for a place to store their nuts. I found a semic crew on my ranch at Chalk Mountain. I signed the sizmo agreement months ago and now they are using my place as base. I guess because it so high up. My saltwater well is taking longer than it should the company with the drilling permits are trying to sell it before it’s even drilled. Such is capitalism.

I’m damn glad we have it. I don’t see the Mexican Goverment(ok they finally showed up) sending any Aid. We take care of our own. Ever person that lived in New Orleans knows you have to look up to see a oceanliner go by. Not one person has said. How could such a thing happen? Whats the saying (live by the ocean die by the ocean)?
